1973 starring bruce lee, jim kelly, john saxon, bob wall and kien shih.
directed by robert clouse
enter the dragon was never ment to be an acting classic and was never ment to win over the critics. what is was ment to do was deliver the biggest, best and most kick ass martial arts spectacular of all time, and it did.
PLOT: mr lee is recruited by a government agency to go into a tournament hosted by the evil mr han. his purpose there is to uncover a drugs ring. however he does have his own agenda, the guy responsable for the death of his sister is hans personal body guard( major mistake there o'hara).
amungst the other competador are 2 old nam buddies roper and williams, they too have alterior motives for attendence, williams on the run from the cops and roper hiding from a loan shark.
MY OPINION: quit simply enter the dragon kicks ass all over any other martial arts movie. sadly bruce never saw his ledgend become what it is as he died shortly before the release of this movie. the charracters and the plot are kind of weak but the action more than makes up for that. the fight scenes are coriographed by lee himself and deliver spectacular action including the infamous battle with the guards, where lee single handedly takes out 74 people(yes i counted) using his hands and a variety of weapons. on a side note jackie chan playes they guard that get his neck snapped.
the final 20 minutes of the movie are nothing short of awsome, the choriograph a fight scene with over 150 people at one is amazing, the battle between roper and hans champion bolo, the chase and fight between lee and han culminating in the infamous mirror set that took over 1 month to shoot that scene.
enter the dragon is a classic movie, i have never met someone who cannot give it what it deserves, the respect for being an awsome fight movie. not everyone likes it but the respect is there. if you havent seen this where have you been go get it now
AOD gives it 8/10
