Well, I had to go and check out how the newest Sam Raimi film is. Evil Dead is one of my favorite all time horror films, so I had to see what his movies are like now.
Well, Spiderman picks up with the story of Peter Parker. Peter is a young teenager who has no friends, except for his friend Harry, whos father happens to be the Green Goblin. Well, Peter is on a science tour where they are looking at spiders. He happens to get bitten by this new breed of spider and it gives him all these special powers. That night he is feeling sick, he's skinny and has no muscles. The next morning he wakes up he is feeling great, doesn't need to wear his glasses, and is stronger than he ever dreamed he could be. He discovers that he can climb up walls, move extremely fast, and shoot some kind of web out of his hands. He decides to help people in need, until a monster appears in town who wants Spiderman to join him. That monster is the Green Goblin.
I thought this was a pretty sweet flick. I noticed cameos by Bruce Campbell, though I didn't recognize him at first. He is the ring announcer at the wrestling match. I also noticed Ted Raimi in there.
Overall I thought this was a great movie for the comic book super hero. I never really was a fan of Spiderman, though I knew about him for as long as I can remember. So, during the movie I really didn't know much about the villians, because I didn't follow Spiderman when I was younger. Though even if you aren't a fan of the old Spiderman show and comics, you can still enjoy this movie. You will learn all about the Spiderman series in this movie. Sure it was filled with CGI, but I really couldn't tell on many scenes. I highly recommend you all checking this movie out. Also, on Friday night alone it made 41 million. It's on its way to having the largest opening weekend in history. Right now Harry Potter has it with 90 million on opening weekend. According to polls and stuff, Spiderman can possibly the fastest movie to make 100 million, and can probably do it this weekend.
I say way to go Sam Raimi, you deserve it!
