According to the latest issue of Variety, New Line is contemplating a sequel for David Fincher's breakout film 'Seven'. They've purchased a script from 'Ocean's Eleven' scripters Ted Griffin and Sean Bailey called 'Solace' that they're hoping to re-work into the further adventures of Detective William Somerset. Oh God, what a terrible sounding idea. But it gets worse. The 'Solace' script they're working from is about a psychic detective who is tracking a serial killer with mental gifts of his own. If they keep that element in the script, just the basics of it, they could potentially make this the most moronic sequel since 'Poltergeist 2'.
We'll wait and see what develops of this bit o' news before any final judgments are made. I just hope they look at the original one more time before they put anything in writing and realize it's not a movie that needs any kind of follow up, especially not one involving Morgan Freeman moving things with the power of his mind.
thanx always to the ever awesome CC

A sequel to Seven sounds like a bad idea.
