If you're into Italian horror at all, you know the name 'Suspiria' Easily Dario Argento's best-loved film, 'Suspiria' broke new ground with it's visual stylings and twisted (if sometimes hard to follow) plot. Now it seems that an American is now taking a crack at the formula. The Hollywood Reporter announced today that Phoenix Pictures just picked up a script from Adam Marcus and Debra Sullivan called 'Black Autumn', which concerns a young, disadvantaged girl who is accepted to an upscale all-girls school. The problem is that it's run by witches.
For those of you not in the know, that's almost the exact same plot as 'Suspiria', though an official press release states they're going for a 'Rosemary's Baby' feel to the movie. Interesting...
Adam Marcus, you may recall, directed/co-wrote that horror guilty pleasure known as 'Jason Goes to Hell', though there's no word if he'll talk the helm on 'Autumn' or not. Either way, they're ripping off a master, so I hope they take their time with this baby

Oh well, "When a Stranger Calls" ripped off "Black Christmas" and it got all the credit for the caller in the house plot.
I am sure the more mainstream audience will see this film and extremely original even when it won't be. Oh well, when someone mentions that movie to me I'll just have to make them watch my Suspiria DVD. 8)

Face it Faceless, allot of the shit hollywood comes out with now is all bullshit. Once they come up with an original idea, feel free to post it.
