Well, as you all know Geocities doesn't want to give me the rights to www.allhorrormovies.com which has been my URL for the past year.    So basically what they are wanting me to do is the ultimate site suicide, a name change.    Okay, well here's what I was thinking I can direct the URL at Geocities anywhere I want, though it'll just be stuck on Geocities.  What I can do is purchase a new URL.  I was thinking about www.allhorrormovies.net and just pointing the allhorrormovies.com URL over to the .net one.  Though the bad thing is I'll have to purchase 2 URL's and that's going to suck big time.  At least the site would get to move to its own server.  Oh well, I plan on giving Geocities a call, they can run from my e-mails but I would love to see them try and hang the phone up on me.  If nothing works, it looks like the site may have to change the name.  

What are your thoughts on what all is going on?

If you need to buy 2 url's to get what you want, then do it.  Appareantly goecities thinks they've gotten you by the balls on this one, so if they do dick you around, you could always say fuck 'em and get another name.

I love your site, you know that, but what about chaning it alittle, and if that means a name change, then so be it?
As you know Ken, I know nothing about websites, but I did recently see a flash site and it looked really cool. Have you thought about using that flash stuff? It would make your site look so damn cool. And even if the content is good, a cool looking site will make ppl want to visit more, it's more inviting..

Its not that simple unfortunatly anne, sure if you got allot of cash you can buy 2 but sooner or later you will run out and not wanna pay for one of them. it isn't a cheap thing to do.

I plan on making a Flash intro, I have some really cool stuff set up for it.  Though I don't have the tools to make a Flash one just yet, but once I get my server I will get the tools.  I have the perfect music for the intro I'm working on.  I had one made with an anamated Banner, but it didn't look that good.  The Flash intro is going to be great once I get it set up.

As for the URL thing, it costs extra and Geocities gets exactly what they want still, whether or not I have a site there.  I'm going to give them a call, if they hang up I may just have to pay them a visit and see what they have to say to my face.  I'll get my URL, whether Geocities wants to give it up or not.

its not that bad and it open alot of better opertunites to get away from geoshities
