Here's what was reported at Creature Corner.
"I know this may sound like a strange question, but how many people have actually seen 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre'? Seems like every time it's mentioned it's referred to as a gorefest, or a splatter picture, or something indicating large amounts of grue.
The reality is that 'TCM' is better known for it's atmosphere and overwhelming sense of terror than it's buckets of blood. Still, Michael Bay feels the 21st Century needs a tamer version to satiate our tastes. Commence eye rolling...
Cinescape reported a new development on the New Line/Michael Bay remake of 'TCM', and it's not a pleasant one. Word on the street is that Bay wants to give us a kinder, gentler 'TCM' for the new millennium. Reports have surfaced that he's aiming for a “toned-down, modern refiguring” of the original.
Someone must stop him. Now."
By reading this I have to say that this is a horrible idea. What is with Michael Bay? He can stick to his Pearl Harbor but leave the horror alone. I guess he's going to throw some whacked out love story into the TCM Remake as well, just like in Pearl Harbor. What's next? Leatherface the musical? Oh well, at least I still have the classic original in my DVD collection. (R.I.P. Leatherface)

I say, that if at any point during the film Leatherface puts on a ghostface mask, we all join together in sending Michael Bay the largest amount of hate mail ever sent in the history of the U..post office. A 'kinder gentler' version of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre? I think I want to puke, thats probably the worst thing that could ever happen. I was actually looking forward to this remake, but after hearing this side of the story, I hope that they incounter a horrable accident while filming and the movie will be shutdown. If I believed in god, I would pray that this doesnt happen. At least The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 5 Terror in Texas will be out next year. 'modern refiguring' my ass....
