I was out driving when I heard this song called "Get Away" on the radio. I really liked it and thought it was a new Tool song. I have never really been a big fan of Tool, but I really liked this song. After it was over they said the name of the band as Earshot, which I never heard of. Well, once I got the Queen of the Damned soundtrack, they had another song on there called "Headstrong." I really liked that song and I decided to pick up the album.
1. Headstrong - This song is a great song to open the album and really establish what their message is.
2. Misery - This is my least favorite song on the album. The vocals don't seem to fit with the song and it just doesn't go well with the rest of the album.
3. Get Away - This song is their first single. It sounds more like Tool, but it's still a great song.
4. Not Afraid - This song takes a different angle on the rest of the album. This one goes a bit more Alternative with a really catchy chorus.
5. Ordinary Girl - This song is another one like Not Afraid that is more Alternative. I really like it and it's a good one to listen to.
6. We Fall, We Stand - This song gets back to the way Headstrong and Get Away were, with it being heavy.
7. Wake Up - This is another great song, but the constant screaming of the words "Wake up" got annoying after a while. Plus this is a song that I could really relate to.
8. This World - This song is another really good one and once it starts it doesn't ease up until it's over.
9. Asleep, I Lie - Another good song and the chorus really makes it stand out.
10. Unfortunate - For some odd reason this is one of my favorite songs on the album. It isn't heavy, it isn't soft, it's just unique and I really like it.
11. My Time - This is the final song on the album and it ends with us wanting more from this band.
Overall I like Earshot and if you're a fan of Tool you'll probably like them as well. Though some of their songs sound quite a bit like Tool and I am sure some Tool fans will get offended by it. If you're not a fan of Tool then you should try this band out. They have a solid album and none of the songs are horrible. Misery could have been better, but it's still one that I like to listen to. I think this band will be competing for album of the year.
