If there's one horror idea that's not nearly touched on nearly enough, I'd say it's Hell on Earth. Sure, it's mentioned in "end of the world" movies, but c'mon. How often do you actually get to see someone's idea of what the planet would be like if it was taken over by Satan's ill-tempered minions? Not often.
First-time writer Peter Schink had an idea of what that might be like, and now Millennium Films is getting ready to unleash it upon an unsuspecting populace. The movie will be called 'Legion' ("cause there's a lot of us in here"...sorry, Chris Moore reference) and production is set to begin this fall. Since it's easier to describe it based on movies you're already familiar with, no matter how different it may be, think 'Road Warrior' with demons.
Hell seems to have gotten too big for it's britches, and now the underworld has seeped into the real world. The action in the script revolves around a truck stop where humans are struggling to survive against the forces of down under. And I don't mean Australians.
So maybe it's more like 'Maximum Overdrive' with demons then...
Music video helmer Gregory Dark (pictured) will direct the project. Upon searching for info on Mr. Dark, I discovered that he's directed videos for bands such as Orgy and OutKast, but the interesting thing is that he got his start making porno! Familiar with 'Devil In Miss Jones Part 5: Inferno'? That's our man! 'Carnal Crimes'? You betcha! 'Between the Cheeks 2'? Why not!?
I really don't know how much a history with porno will help him helm a successful horror/action film, but the concept is cool enough to keep me interested, and he is literally an award-winning porn director. That's gotta count for something, cause you know those porn committees have got to be picky.
